DT466 engine stand mounting steps
This section requires metric M-10/grade 8 bolts, adapter plate ZTSE4151 and engine stand OEM4137, with the adapter plate fitted to the engine before the stand. Follow-on removal covers the oil filter, coolant filter, oil cooler assembly, oil pressure regulating valve, road draft tube and turbocharger. Figures and numbered callouts illustrate each operation step by step, and every fastener is tightened to the special torque value published in the companion “Specifications, Special Torque Values, and Service Tools” section (publication EGES2101).
Applicable truck models
It applies to International DT466E and 530E diesel engines and stresses using a hoist safety catch and capping all openings to keep debris out. Do not mix the oil pressure regulating valve with the high oil pressure relief valve. For official model information, see the International Trucks (Navistar) website.
Who needs this DT466 engine stand mounting
Rebuilders starting a full teardown use these steps to safely mount the engine and strip external components before internal work. Because this is one chapter of the complete International DT466 and DT530 (2000-2003) service manual set, most workshops download it alongside the diagnostic manual, the DTC list and the specification volume so the repair, testing and reference material stay together.
