Circuit description and component location
The ECM enables the engine brake by sending a signal directly to the brakes, and it only enables them under certain operating conditions. This code covers a fault in that supply circuit. The OEM Troubleshooting and Repair Manual is referenced for the location of the engine brakes.
The brake harness and engine brake solenoid connectors are flushed with electronic contact cleaner and inspected for bent, corroded or pushed-back pins before the harness or solenoid is repaired or replaced.
