Applicable truck models
This file applies to Cummins ISB, ISC, and ISL CM2150 engines where Fault Code 2359 is logged for Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Delta Pressure – Data Valid But Above Normal Operational Range – Moderately Severe Level. The file group identifies ISB6.7 CM2150 (2007-09), and the procedure also references ISB CM2150 Service Manual, Bulletin 4021578, plus ISC and ISL CM2150 Service Manual, Bulletin 4021569 for related removal, inspection, and replacement procedures. See the manufacturer’s official information at Cummins official website.
Who needs this fault code 2359 DTCs manual
This manual is for diesel mechanics, fleet technicians, and workshop owners diagnosing high EGR differential pressure readings, disabled EGR valve actuation, amber CHECK ENGINE light complaints, or related EGR sensor faults. It is useful when checking Fault Code 1895, 1896, 2357, 1866, 2273, or 2274 before replacing an EGR delta pressure sensor, EGR valve, engine harness, or ECM.
The procedure states that the ECM supplies 5 volts and sensor return to the EGR differential pressure sensor, while the sensor signal changes with pressure across the EGR differential pressure orifice. The diagnostic runs when the EGR valve position is less than 5 percent open, engine speed is below a calibratible value, and engine torque output is below a calibratible value. Possible causes listed include a damaged EGR differential pressure sensor, a stuck open EGR valve, and EGR differential pressure sensor flow port cross-drillings plugged with soot.
Guided checks include inspecting the air intake connection for leaks, checking EGR differential pressure sensor flow ports, inspecting connector pins for corrosion or damage, reading circuit response after 30 seconds, monitoring EGR valve position at high idle with the sensor unplugged, and inspecting ECM connector pins. The final section verifies that fault code 2359 DTCs is inactive after idling for 1 minute and then clears inactive fault codes with INSITE™ electronic service tool.
