Eaton Range Solenoid Valve detection logic
The TECU detects an open circuit or short to ground while the solenoid is on, and a short to power while it is off. FMI 3 sets for high voltage on the high-side driver, FMI 4 for low voltage on the low-side driver, and FMI 5 for an open circuit — each after one second, clearing once no fault is seen for two seconds.
