The monitored parameter is Injector Quantity, enabled in steady-state drive with no regen. Typical duration is 2 minutes, MIL and CEL are both on, and the engine reaction is a 25% derate. The code is verified at a steady engine RPM of 1400-1500 held for two minutes.
Diagnosis starts by clearing any other codes, then checks intake manifold temperature and its sensor for damaged pins, compares intake manifold pressure to barometric pressure, tests EGR delta P voltage between 0.55 and 0.83 volts on pin 109, inspects the EGR piping and exhaust for leaks or blockage, leak-checks the Charge Air Cooler, and ends with a high idle regeneration.
