The fault indicates the ACM2.1 has detected a sudden temperature shift on the DPF outlet temperature sensor. The most likely cause is an intermittent wiring concern such as a poor terminal fit, corrosion or chafing rather than a failed sensor.
After clearing any active SPN 3246/FMI 3 or 4 faults, the technician monitors the DPF outlet temperature signal (pin 97) while wiggle-testing the harness to find voltage spikes, then inspects that section for chafing, corrosion or damage.
