SPN 1636 FMI 4 troubleshooting steps
This one-page sheet gives a single corrective action: repair the short to ground between pin 2 of the intake manifold temperature sensor harness connector and pin 106 of the Motor Control Module (MCM) 120-pin connector. The monitored parameter is the intake manifold temperature sensor, always enabled, with a typical two-second duration, MIL and CEL lamps, and a 25% engine derate as the engine reaction. Verification is a one-minute engine idle after the repair.
