SPN 3563 FMI 4 troubleshooting steps
You disconnect the intake manifold pressure/temperature sensor connector, inspect it for bent, spread or corroded pins, then with the ignition on measure 4.5 to 5.5 volts across pins 2 and 4. Less than 4.5 volts points to an open back to MCM pin 58. With the MCM connector off, resistance from harness pin 1 to MCM pin 87 and to ground separates an open, a short to ground, or a failed sensor that must be replaced.

- Steps 1 to 2 – Disconnect connector and inspect pins
- Steps 3 to 4 – Supply voltage across pins 2 and 4
- Steps 5 to 6 – Disconnect the MCM 120-pin connector
