This FCV circuit failed high sheet documents Detroit SPN 3482 FMI 3, a high reading that carries a 10 percent derate. It separates a short to power in the harness from a failed doser block. Follow it to test before replacing parts.

FCV circuit failed high diagnostic guide
With the key on and engine off, the technician measures voltage between pin 1 of the FCV connector and battery ground; above 4.5 volts indicates a short to power on the branch to pin 69 of the MCM 120-pin connector. If voltage is normal, the MCM connector is disconnected and resistance between pins 1 and 2 of the FCV connector is measured; below five ohms points to a short between the valve connector and MCM pins 64 and 69, while a higher reading calls for replacing the hydrocarbon doser block assembly.

- Step-by-step troubleshooting procedure
- FCV connector voltage and resistance checks
- Harness repair or doser block replacement
Applicable truck models
This procedure applies to Detroit DD Series engines built for EPA 2007 and later, covering all model years (EPA07, EPA10 and GHG14) as printed on the document cover, and the identical SPN/FMI sheet is also filed under Detroit Series 60 (DDEC VI, EPA 2007). Confirm the emissions platform on your truck and cross-check the connector and pin numbers against the official Detroit engine support site before making any repair.
Who needs this FCV circuit failed high manual
A diesel technician on any Detroit DD model year use this sheet to tell a wiring short to power from a failed doser block, so the valve circuit is repaired without needless part swaps.
