Installing Cat ET

Troubleshooting
No communication with the ECM
Confirm the Comm 3 driver is installed, the correct interface is selected in Preferences, and the diagnostic cable is seated. Try a different USB port and re-seat the connector at the machine.
A parameter or event code will not change
The item is password-protected. You will need the Caterpillar factory password tied to that ECM, not a higher software tier.
Adapter not recognized
Reinstall the Comm 3 driver and verify the adapter appears as an RP1210 device in Windows.
